Many people buy a Groupon on other online coupon deals that they don't end up using for one reason or another. Now it is possible to resell these coupons and get some money back. Sites like Chicago-based DealsGoRound and San Francisco's CoupRecoup resell deals purchased by online shoppers.
The founder of DealsGoRound, Kris Petersen, came up with the idea two years ago after buying four Segway tour Groupons at $39 each, but between the bad weather and his marathon training he didn't find the time to use them and let them expire. This felt like a big waste, and gave him the idea that a lot of other people probably felt the same way and would welcome a site like DealsGoRound. So he launched the site last year, along with a complementary app. Users can sell their deals and recoup at least some of their money, and bargain hunters can find even greater discounted deals on the site as well.
